SAT Training

Rigorous SAT training works to improve anyone's performance on the test. You can successfully train yourself to perform the SAT's core tasks more quickly and more accurately, and, given enough time and focus, you will achieve an elite score.

The SAT's challenges are a combination of core skills, like algebra and sentence construction, and test-taking skills specific to the SAT. The core skills are a limited group of math and English skills that the SAT tests in depth and some breadth, and in recycled combinations with each other. The test-taking skills required by the SAT arise from its closely-timed, nearly four hour format of standardized multiple-choice questions, and from its focus on problem-solving of a particular style.

Your SAT training regimen should include core skill study and drills, and extensive practice with SAT questions, sections, and full tests. You should regularly and thoroughly evaluate your performance in practice exercises to determine your areas of weakness and strength, and focus your training program especially on strengthening your weaknesses to earn more points. In addition, you should solidify and hone your stronger skills in order to perform them in shorter time with equal or greater accuracy.

Your training should also build SAT test-taking skills like time management, notetaking, gridding, skipping, and guessing, and strategies to improve focus and stamina and to reduce test anxiety, including sleep and diet practices, visualization, meditation, and ritualization.
